Pennants results 9 May 2023
Div 1
Today our Div 1 team travelled to Goondiwindi for the final round of the 2023 season.
Although not in finals contention, the team needed a good result to maintain
our Div 1 place (or face relegation back to Div 2).
Our team played well and got up over a strong home team to win 4.5 / 2.5, well done to
Andrew, Nathan, Tim, Caleb, Jack, Owen, Richie, and Dave for representing the
club well over the season, with some close contests against the some of the
Darling Downs best golfers.
Seniors
The seniors travelled to Warwick for the final round today, although we were on top of the
ladder, we needed a win to secure a home final. Unfortunately, the home ground
advantage proved too much with the Warwick team getting up over our old boys
4/1.
The seniors will travel to Warwick in 2 weeks to vie for finals glory on the 21st May.
Good luck to the Seniors and well done on a great first season of seniors pennants.

A great day out on the course today, starting with the working bee from 7am and shotgun start for the Sixes Stableford Comp. Lots of positive feedback today with everyone enjoying the alternative team competition format. It’s great to see everyone out supporting our club and creating such great camaraderie and atmosphere around the club.

2023 Senior B Mens Pennant Result
The Cabarlah Senior B Mens Pennant Team travelled to Warwick on Sunday to compete in the season’s final. There was some optimism despite Warwick playing on their home track.
Unfortunately, we went down 4 & 1, David Stephen with the only win on the day. Three of the lost matches were in play right up until the last couple of holes, and 1 match lost on the 18th, so plenty to celebrate in our first season in the senior pennant competition.
Overall, a great first season with a good bunch of fellas representing the club proudly. The team wish to thank the Cabarlah Golf Club and Committee for their support, ground staff, bar staff and Gary Small for all their assistance in making our home games run smoothly. There has been loads of positive feedback about our golf course and our operations, so we’ll done to all.

The Cabarlah
Ladies Championships have just been completed. We would like to thank Toby and
everyone that assisted on the cleanup day as the course looked absolutely
magnificent. The weather did play havoc
with the event and the first day which was to be Tuesday 16th was washed
out. We then decided to change the
event to two days of 27 holes for the A & B graders and 2 x 18 for the C
graders.
The daily
trophies were provided by Sue Hayes and Meg Chadwick respectively for the best
Net on the initial 18 holes.
